The Xamven Standard
One repeatable sequence, applied to every payment situation: REQUEST → FREEZE → VERIFY → APPROVE → DOCUMENT → PAY.
Request
Capture what is being requested and by whom — the source, the channel, and the claimed authority.
Freeze
Pause when something requires verification or falls outside normal expectations. Urgency is not authorization.
Verify
Confirm the critical facts using an independent verification method — never the contact information supplied in the request itself.
Approve
Ensure the right person, at the right authority level, authorizes the payment.
Document
Create a usable record of what was checked, by whom, and when — before the payment is released.
Pay
Release the payment only after every required step above has actually been completed.
Judgment in the moment isn't a control.
Asking an employee to "be careful" is not a process. The Xamven Standard replaces in-the-moment judgment calls with the same repeatable sequence every time — so the right questions get asked whether the request is routine, urgent, or unusual.
Not cybersecurity
The Xamven Standard is a financial-operations and payment-control methodology — it governs how a business receives, verifies, authorizes, documents, and releases payments. It is not antivirus software, a firewall, or a cybersecurity product.
